JCK Las Vegas 2011 highlighted Peter Storm’s new Rock Your Love™ Bridal Collection, which combines Rock n Roll music, the language of young emotions and bridal jewelry, the supreme symbol of love. This new collection is designed for the up-to-date millennial bride. Rock Your Love™ is a fresh new approach to traditional wedding ring ideas. Every Rock Your Love™ ring has beautiful lines, artistic detail and highlights the individuality of the ‘bride to be’.
Peter Storm’s friendship with Chester Bennington, lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning American group, Linkin Park, inspired him to design this new collection. Chester and his wife Talinda, both wear exclusive Peter Storm wedding rings that influenced the Rock Your Love™ line and it was their music and their personality and style that gave Peter a direction to follow.
Peter Storm also introduced the Rock Your Love™ Bridal Event, which is the cornerstone to a multi-layered marketing campaign. This creative event concept is a unique way to reach and connect with this target client group. Peter Storm suggests “The increasingly crowded media spectrum requires innovation for retailers to attract new, young bridal clients. Modern music is a medium that speaks to young clients and using it will distinguish the Rock Your Love™ retailers from their competitors and the blur of all other bridal advertising”
The Rock Your Love™ marketing themes were displayed at JCK with a huge selection of rock n’ roll memorabilia from Peter Storm’s private collection. Daily raffle drawings were held for participating retailers and numerous prizes were awarded including: Marvin Gaye’s signed LP, What’s Going On , won by Kent Gardella of Napa Valley Jewelers; the Rolling Stones signed LP, Beggars Banquet, won by Stacey Papp of Bay Hill Jewelers; Bruce Springsteen signed LP, Born to Run, won by Ron Zulli of Benari Jewelers; Crosby, Stills & Nash signed LP, CSN, won by Page Henley of McCarty’s Jewelers and the Grand Prize of an electric guitar signed by the original members of ACDC, won by Steve Weintraub, Jr. of Gold & Diamond Source.
Congratulations to the winners! The excitement created here will be carried forward to Rock Your Love™ Bridal Events held in select stores throughout the US this year.
For the JCK show in Las Vegas, Peter displayed pieces for his personal rock n’ roll collection. He brought 6 signed guitars: Signed by Johnny Cash, Carlos Santana, ACDC, Guns N’ Roses, The Police and Bon Jovi. The guitars in the photo belonged to Johnny Cash, ACDC and Carlos Santana. Each guitar had a custom chosen frame and hung in the back of the booth. A true Rock My World theme!
One of my favorite pass times is listening to music, and my long time favorite artist is Mark Knopfler. Known for being the song writer and driving force behind Dire Straits, Knopfler has an unmistakable signature sound. I have attended numerous Mark Knopfler concerts, and had the honor to meet Mark in 2009. He’s as charming and disarming in person as he is on stage. Of his albums, one of my favorites is Golden Heart, his first album after leaving Dire Straits.
I am eagerly awaiting Mark’s newest studio recording, release date yet to be disclosed!

What I’ve got today is a few pictures from the last Linkin Park concert. The band was in the Bay Area a few weeks ago and Talinda Bennington was kind enough to invite my wife, Anne and myself. I even took my youngest daughter with me. We were seated up close and off to the side. The view was great and the concert fantastic. I was able to take a couple of shots with my cell phone. Here is one of my favorites.

With his new rock ’n’ roll–inspired line, Peter Storm hopes to rock the world of a very specific woman: “She is age 27 to 35, owns jewelry, and wants an arrival ring but has constraints on income, like car payments,” says president Ann Storm. Rock My World is “up-market and sized for bigger center stones, from 1 to 2 cts. t.w.” The 18k gold mountings (which start at $2,400) come in 30 styles and feature lyrical detailing, scallop shapes, and diamond accents visible on side profiles. The launch consists of social media outreach—Storm will provide retailers with Face book posts—plus customized research and e-mail marketing for clients who host in-store events.
To help retailers connect, data mining targets individuals in a three- to five-mile radius who fit a desired profile, including household incomes of $150,000 and up, marital status, and even music interests—something Storm knows a bit about. Ann and Peter—who have been married for 26 years—both have friends in the recording industry, like Linkin Park front man Chester Bennington (a Storm client). Asked if her designer hubby plays music, Anne cracks: “Only very badly.” —JH
